About Us
Lizzie's Place is a family owned and run retail business based in Brisbane Australia, and Yogyakarta (Yogya) Indonesia. Lizzies is an Australian business that began in 1989, with the first container unpacked outside Lizzies home.
Who's Who
Lizzie's Place has its own factory, run by Lizzie's husband Tony, in Yogya. Manufacturing is outsourced to suppliers, which is done in the Kampongs (villages), and brought into the factory when completed. Our staff at LP Yogya inspect each piece, complete final carpentry work, then finish each piece using a combination of shellac and stain, in a variety of colour finishes. Due to the family connection in Yogya, Lizzie's Place can offer customers the opportunity to custom order pieces in particular colour finishes and door styles, based on catalogue items. Lizzie's husband Tony supervises the factory in Yogya, and sources unique items, handicraft, homewares and promotional lines for Lizzie's Place. Our Yogya factory is helmed by Edhi and Heppy.
Lizzie's Place in Brisbane is staffed by mother and daughter team Lizzie and Veronica and their good friend Libby. Occasionally when Tony is in town, he will be instore on a weekend to meet with our customers.
When each piece arrives into our store in Brisbane, it is inspected and treated with orange oil to ensure it reaches the customer in its best condition. Lizzie started this business in 1990, so we have over 20 years experience in importing furniture from Indonesia! Also, Tony has been in the furniture industry since the 1960s. As we have seen most situations that you could possibly experience, if you have anything you need to know about your timber furniture, please feel free to draw on our ever- expanding knowledge base.
